These courses are targeted to any person likely to intervene on or near, materials, products or equipment containing asbestos, on the particular occasion of their maintenance and up-keeping. This type of operation is not intended to withdraw or treat asbestos but is likely to expose the workers involved to carcinogenic fibres through inhalation. Risk reduction methods must be implemented.
