Beyond all works in buildings, dealing with a great number of building materials used in the past, can cause a higher or lower exposure to substances such as asbestos, refractory ceramic fibres, paint containing lead or other carcinogens, mutagens or toxic to reproduction (WRC) substances.
Prior to such interventions, the workers need to be informed on health risks and must be trained on working techniques to enable them to reduce risks of exposure, and must be acquainted on defined means of protection, made available by their employer.
